WEDDING TIPS.....

Picture
ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY
Niche offers a complete wedding experience that you will treasure for a lifetime.
We combine glamour and elegance to create your perfect look.
Every bride wants to look her best.
Following these tips to help ensure your skin and hair will glow radiantly on your wedding day.
SKIN
  • Facials are a great way to give your face that glow on your wedding day. The soothing nature of a cleansing facial will not only rejuvenate the look of your skin but will also help you relax during the stressful time of planning a wedding. Some people may have reactions to facials so its best to go for a test run a few months prior to your big day. Taking care of your skin is the easiest way to guarantee your face will be radiant at your wedding.
  • Watch your sun intake. Use sunscreen and avoid over tanning. Spray tans are a safe alternate, always have a test run months prior to wedding day to avoid any streaking or unhappiness.
  • Drink lots of water, great habit to get into, not only helping your skin look clearer and brighter, but also helps you feel better all over.
  • Rest is an essential part of good skin care too, this ensuring your freshest look on the big day.
  • Exfoliating your skin 2-3 days prior to makeup application, gives you a more radiant glow.
  • Have brows groomed and any facial waxing done 3-4 days prior. Makeup does not adhere to freshly waxed skin.
HAIR
  • Choose a style that reflects who you are.
  • A style that complements your dress and veil or head piece, whether your dress is a low neck line or high neck line, can change your idea on your hair style.
  • Remember it's best not to cover any detail on your dress with your hair.
  • A style that suits your face shape.
  • When having your trial bring along any photos for us to discuss as well as any head piece or veil.
  • Together we will create a style to suit you for your special day, along with having fun in a relaxed atmosphere on your trial day.
  • While at your trial I will suggest any treatments or colours that your hair may need to make sure it's looking its best on your wedding day.
  • Look forward to getting that individual style just for you.
MAKEUP
  • NAPOLEON MAKEUP-It's a crime not to prime!
  • The longevity of your makeup will be everlasting, due to Napoleons wonderful products.
  • The most important part of your wedding day makeup, is to look like your natural self and be comfortable in the amount of makeup you are wearing. The best way to ensure this feeling is through practice. Practice makes perfect, whether you do it yourself or get us to do it for you. Keeping in mind you need good coverage and professional makeup to enhance your look for the wedding photos!
  • A trial is recommended so you experience the look you will be getting for your day. Bring along photos of what you like and express your dislikes. So we understand the look you are thinking of.
  • Please advise if any member of the bridal party have allergies to makeup, prior to appointment.
  • Having an eyelash tint is essential, especially for those blonde beauties, it will give the appearance of fuller and darker lashes which will make your eyes pop in photos.
  • Purchase a lipstick/lipgloss for your bridal party so you can touch up on your wedding day.
  • Wearing a zip or button up top, helps for easy removal, not to disturb hair and makeup.
  • It is also a good idea to have a compact to press any oily or shiny areas (t-zone) OR purchase some blotting papers to touch up with and have these close by (with your lippy) at the photos
HANDS
  • Don't neglect your hands as there will be a lot of focus on them, as everyone asks to see the ring.
  • Moisturise hands daily leading up to your wedding day.
  • Having a manicure and/or pedicure the day before, so they look fabulous in the photos. Don't forget to bring a nail polish colour that complements your dress and look, with you for your appointment.
  • Pamper your mum and bridesmaids with a manicure too, use the same polish colour for a consistent look.

EYE MAKEUP

Picture
EYESHAPES AND SHADOWS

ALMOND EYES: Considered the perfect eye shape and you can try almost every eye shadow technique. They all look good.

CLOSE SET EYES: Area between the eyes is smaller than one eye. Apply light colours on inner corners. Use dark colours on the outer corners, blending up and outwards. Eyeliner applied on outer corners only. Emphasize outer corner of lashes by applying mascara more to that area as well as individual false lashes can be added to the outer corners too. Avoid using liner on inner wet lines.

WIDE SET EYES: Area between eyes is wider than one eye and flat. Contour down sides of nose from brow downwards. Pencil eyebrows closer together subtly. Shadow application should be soft and subtle. Accentuate inner corner of eyes, with dark colours. Emphasise middle of face. Apply dark eyeliner on inner wet lines.

DEEP SET EYES: Eye is deep into socket with a small eyelid area. Highlight eyelid and inner corner with light shadows. Use deeper colours just above socket line and blend up and out. Creating a more open eye.

ROUND EYES: As eyes look round you need to make eyes elongated. Apply darker shadows on outer corners and blend up. Use eyeliner to extend and elongate the eye. Lengthen brows with pencil or shadow. Apply individual lashes to outer corners. Avoid shimmer and pearl colours.

HOODED EYES: Fold of skin hanging over socket line, normally with age. Highlight eyelid with light shadows and create a higher socket line with darker matt colours, blending out to outer corner. Use matt shadows to highlight under brow.

DOWN TURNED EYES: Need to make eyes appear turned up, on the outer corners. Blending darker shadows along socket line and up using 2/3 of the eye area. Apply thin eyeliner on top lash line. Curling lashes and apply mascara and a few individual lashes on outer corner of eye. Gives the “Lift” appearance.

TEENAGE SKIN PROBLEMS

Picture
Acne oily skin, Eczema or Dermatitis, even warts are just some of the skin conditions that teenagers today have to experience. All caused by the hormonal change in our body, as we all know it as Puberty.

ACNE: Abnormal blockages in the hair follicle as well as the increase of oil production and oil gland size. These changes can lead to a build up of bacteria and inflammation of the blocked follicle, resulting in painful, swollen red or white acne spots.

TREATMENT: A mild case can be treated with cosmetics and moisturisers that slow down the oil production. The amazing tea tree oil is an ingredient that can be added to your skincare regime. You can find products based on tea tree as well that is most beneficial to this skin type. Tea tree is very calming and soothing while it’s antibacterial properties help stop the spread of this skin disorder.
It’s important not to over cleanse the skin as this causes dryness and aggravates the acne. Don’t be afraid to moisturise with the appropriate creams. Some people may feel it feeds the acne however it does the opposite, keeping it moist and hydrated.
Our NAT Skincare range have two different size packs to help rebalance the skin.
Perfect for oily or acne-prone skin types, the NAT. Rebalance Try Me Kit contains expert skincare solutions to address your most pressing skin concerns. The Rebalanace Try Me Kit combines 3 products in convenient 15ml sizes - perfect for travel or to 'try before you buy' full-size products. Costs $25.

The full size products in a kit for $89. Banish those breakouts! With a cleansing gel, scrub and moisturizer.

A more severe case with painful red inflamed pimples (that might get infected by bacteria) will respond to creams with alpha hydroxy acids, like glycolic and salicylic acid. Antiseptics like benzoyl peroxide preparations help to kill the bacteria. Vitamin A products can help to reduce the skins oil production.

Our amazing Mayerling Skin Renewal Systems with active ingredients of glycolic and salicylic acid helps to control the oil production, penetrating to the second layer of the skin, while calming and soothing the skin. Home care range to be used daily in conjunction with a course of salon peels.

In very severe cases hormonal medications maybe needed or other oral medications prescribed from your doctor can help.

CREATE A NEW LOOK

Picture
Try these tips to change your style.

With summer days approaching, your hair will be feeling the difference, from the elements of the harsh sun and swimming.
It's time to care for & nourish your hair and think about making a change with some new inspiring styles.
A good quality hair masque treatment will repair damaged hair. Enriched with anti oxidants, vitamin E and protein to nourish and mend split ends.
A good haircut does wonders for your hair and it always makes you feel better, it will always grow back so why not take a risk.

At Niche Catherine love’s to give full volume and natural movement giving a free wave to hair. To make it easier for you to style at home, yourself.
A glamorous look is always the timeless bob, different longer bobs now in trend are great for the hair to look thicker and a sharp style but still able to tie up when needed.
Adding a side sweeping fringe can change your old style & frame your face to give you a overall change. Long or short fringes depending on your face shape will show off your features.
Matching a colour to show off movement to your style is essential, with foils around the face or underneath, even a full or partial balayage will add light & shine to your new haircut.
Maybe a semi permanent colour which won't lighten your natural colour but will gloss up your natural colour and add warmth.
Next time you’re in the salon, have a hair masque treatment with a haircut, and walk out with glossy new hair, with out having to cut too much off. Your hair will feel and look rejuvenated, making you feel new all over.

Call/text Catherine on 0428 268 062, to make that change today.
